I was delighted to welcome the inspiring musician Hooshyar Khayam to my home, to improvise and speak about his perspectives on improvisation, the music of Central Asia, the Middle East and Western Classical music. We speak about some of his beautiful recordings in his large discography, and his creative process. A big theme in Season 1 ended up being the joy and importance of musical improvisation. Hooshyar really helped me understand more possibilities and since I met him, I have deepened my improvisation practice, which has really helped me as a player and personally as well, in terms of being able to tap into creativity.
